Everyone is looking forward to a world where we can experience 3D without those annoying glasses. But while we wait for that, here’s something for you to feast your eyes on. Toshiba Mobile have come up with a concept to emulate the 3D experience with their new self-adjusting display. Their engineers took the standard display and shoved a six-axis accelerometer into it, so when the display is tiled, the images and viewing angles are adjusted accordingly, to give the illusion of depth. Toshiba expects it to be a success with e-tailers as another 3d option, but they’re aiming to promote the technology as a way to overcome the limited viewing angles that current autosterescopic displays provide.

News Corp is all set to bring out two new iPad news app, the Daily and All Things D in January next year. According to sources, the apps will be multimedia extensive and have a lot of videos to relay the news across. But that’s not the exciting bit. People working on the project have expressed great excitement about a mystery feature that has been implemented. It’s something 3D, and apparently it’s super interesting. The Daily is also supposed to use the new push subscription feature implemented in itunes recently, that handles recurring subscription billing for just such apps. The app was initially supposed to be out at about this time, but the dev’s are giving it more time to polish it up, iron out the bugs and make sure things go right. So what do you thing this mystery 3d feature will be?

Panasonic seems to be ready to take 3D viewing to the next step.  3D came into our homes, enriched our lives, now it’s time to expand our horizons with a bigger, mightier and even more fabulous 3D TV that will take 3D viewing to a whole new dimension.

There is a surprise in store for its Australian counterparts, with the 103” and 85” now available in HD 3D.  The Integrate Exhibition in Sydney in 2010 showcased these latest professional TVs, with the 103” plasma being the largest available yet in Australia.

Ever thought perfection was possible? Well this latest plasma model seems to come pretty close, with flawless motion and color contrast – 5,000,000: 1.  Add a 30 bit image processor and you have a remarkable depiction of reality on TV.  That almost imperceptible cutting edge technology is what makes one product better than another; the use of phosphor technology in these latest models greatly reduces crosstalk, blurry edges and glare.

3D is now also going to be used to lure in potential customers, with the Panasonic TH 85VX200 and TH 103VX200 being mounted in car showrooms.  With 3D capturing a growing market, it is possible that shopping malls and departmental stores will also be using the technology to bring in more customers.

However, we must’ve forget that plasma is never easy on the pocket.  So the 103” model is priced around $63,799, with the 85” panel coming it at $42,899.  Head to your nearest branded electronic stores to get more information.

The new EVO 3D specifications have been confirmed with 3D camera duality

The halls of CTIA were buzzing with excitement about the new HTC EVO 3D.  This thing makes the EVO 4G look like a corded car-phone.  Complete with 3D technology, the 1.2 GHz dual-core processor will provide more than enough power to run anything cell developers can throw at it.  The 4.3-inch HD display will give you plenty of viewing space to watch videos with 1080p playback.  Incredible, huh?

When watching 3D content, however, the video playback drops to 720p, but heck, it’s a cell phone and that’s nothing to scoff at.  In addition to the specifications on the EVO 3D release, the EVO View has also been tabbed.  The Sprint Flyer platform has obviously been reworked to create the new tablet, and word is that all information will be validated by Sprint’s press release later in the week.

The thought of our cell phones going 3D only increases the belief that unlike 3D we’ve seen in the past, this time around, the technology is here to stay.  The ability to watch movies via our cell devices is still relatively fresh technology, but watching 3D?  Well, that’s just ludicrous...well, it was ludicrous.

The Sony KDL-EX720 gets reviewed, and stands up to the challenge.  This is a great unit with a price tag that should make it very popular

Sony’s latest release, the KDL-EX720, is the most cost effective way to upgrade your television unit in 2011 thus far.  Due to the 3D capability and the 240 Hz refresh rate, you can get performance without the massive price tag on a lot of other units. 

Energy efficiency and a matte screen that reduces glare will ensure that you are always receiving an optimal viewing experience.  Internet connectivity and a sleek design will help the integration into your entertainment setup without breaking the bank.

Information regarding the public perception of 3D pricing has shown that cheaper models will likely be met with great response.  The ability to upgrade a unit and still have cash left over for some other components will surely make the EX720 a very popular choice for consumers this summer.

There are some drawbacks, however, as the blacks aren’t as deep as we’d like, but despite any picture flaws, the features more than make up for it.  In a nutshell, the EX720 offers quite a bit for an incredible low price, and those just getting introduced to streaming content on their television units will be more than happy with the amenities involved.  Need a new TV?  Consider Sony’s KDL-EX720 a viable option, and learn what all the latest units are actually capable of.

The news was released recently, and nobody was shocked.  As exciting as 3D technology is these days, it was only a matter of time before one of the adult entertainment juggernauts decided it was time to implement 3D to their content.  On March 1, just a few days ago, Penthouse launched their 3D television channel in Europe, becoming the first on the continent to do so.

Running 3D programming from 11pm to 5 am, there will be hard and soft core deliveries, and the company expects to release in other global markets later this year.  Should they find themselves overwhelmed with support from the European release, don’t be surprised to learn that they’re ramping up development and getting the project releases bumped up.

The thought of 3D adult entertainment television has been floating around since the 3D glasses were made of cardboard, and we were watching movies through blue and red lenses.  But, actually stepping up to the plate is a huge step for Penthouse, and the power play involved could really set them ahead as an industry leader for another decade. 

Again, adult entertainment in 3D?  Who didn’t see this one a mile away?

Consider how home movies have evolved.  We’ve gone from spools of video tape to VHS tapes.  From there, we got into the digital movement which gave all of us incredible editing capability…just in case you had too much to drink at your brother’s wedding last year…and now we’ve reached the 3D home movie experience.

JVC’s new GS-TD1 camcorder records in 3D, and offers a glasses-free playback through its 3.5-inch LCD screen.  The price dropped from the $2,000 tag that was originally expected, but this camcorder is hardly a bargain model.  Boasting a 5x optical zoom when in 3D and a 10x zoom in 2D, the GS-TD1 is sure to become a very hot commodity even though the price tag seems to limit the market for it.

How does it create your 3D home movies?  It’s simple really.  When you purchase the unit, you’re getting two 3.32 megapixel CMOS sensors that will capture all of your Christmas morning magic.  Did Mom look a little tired in her pajamas?  Sure, she did, and it’ll be even funnier watching it in 3D. 

Obviously, you’ll need a 3D television to watch all of the good times in 3D, but if you’re out picking up a camcorder with a price tag like this, you likely already have one.

The Popcorn Hour media players from Syabas Technology are offering some free firmwire upgrades for their C-200 media player.  The unit offers 3D video playback through Side by Side and Top and Bottom formats and supports the Matroska 3D format.  The 3D playback is available on HDMI 1.4 3D HDTVs. 

March 11th marked the release of the firmwire update 02-04-110308-21408-000.  It’s available for download immediately and owners of the Popcorn Hour A-200 or A-210 and PopBox players should be happy to learn that a similar update is on the way. 

The news wasn’t unexpected, as we’ve known about these upgrades for some time, and Syabas seems to be pushing toward 3D technology for all of their devices.  The Matroska technology has enjoyed the full support of Syabas as they were the first to combine a software and hardware support platform for the stereoscopic 3D files.  All files must maintain the “.3DTab.*” or “.3DSBS.*” file names to be recognized by the hardware.  Further, fans of the Syabas units will have a 3D indicator in the NMJ UI, which will offer an indicator for 3D file playback.  The firmware is also MKV, TS (MPEG), and AVI compatible.  Advancements are expected in the near future, and we’ll keep you updated as we learn more.

The Sony Cybershot series has gained quite a bit of acclaim, and the newest installment:  the DSC-WX10.  The latest mid-range unit doesn’t give you the incredible zoom capabilities of other releases in the series, however that’s not to say that you won’t get incredible shots with the 7x optical zoom offered with the WX10.

Owners will quickly learn how easy the device is to handle.  Compact and light, the DSC-WX10 offers a beautiful Sweep Panorama mode, crisp videos, and of course, the ability to shoot in 3D.  Those with a 3D-ready TV can enjoy the 3D playback of the day’s videos, all shot in incredible HD.  It’s obvious that Sony is stepping up their game, as this may be the most loaded mid-range compact we’ve seen to date.

Auto modes give you quite a bit of flexibility when looking for that perfect shot.  You can take several images and combine them into a single shot that takes the best attributes of each individual take.  The options when combing through the AUTO arena can be a bit confusing at first, but with a bit of tinkering, you’ll be a pro in no time.

The LCD viewing screen is a 2.8-inch window that offered great visibility even when we used it in bright settings.  There’s wasn’t much need for cupping or shading in order to see what we were snapping.  With all of these features, expect this compact to become very popular with those looking to combine convenience and capability in a camera.

Japanese developers are introducing the use of white light to create a glasses-free 3D and hologram experience.  This is groundbreaking as many holograms that we’ve seen to date have been lacking in the color department.  Expect to start seeing technology using this new development in the very near future.

How do they do it?  Well, white light is beamed through three different angles onto a very thin metal film.  Because of the angle and color differences of each beam, when the light shines through an RGB hologram, the end result is a 3D image in full color.  To date, there hasn’t been a way to create holograms efficiently, but this should change everything.

The problem with hologram technology has always been the lack of color and limited viewing angles.  But, as we’re seeing more 3D technology get rid of the glasses, this should propel things further.  Already thinking of the ramifications?  Yep, we are too.  Imagine watching television on your coffee table instead of on a screen.  Gaming with holograms could be the greatest gaming experience in history, so we’ll keep you posted as we learn more about the technology advancement here.
