Gnomeo and Juliet is one of the two 3D movies released last week. It didn’t hunt as much as Justin Bieber. However, it managed to attract a lot of talents. The movie includes the voices of Emily Blunt, Stephen Merchant, Julie Walters, Ozzy Osbourne, Michael Caine, Jame McAvoy and Jason Statham.
First, I couldn’t understand how a movie about garden gnomes could rip off such cast. It really has much more to do with Elton John, who scored the movie and serves as executive producer as well.
The surprising thing is that the movie does not appear to be bad. More than 50% of the reviews were positive, which is definitely more than anyone could ever have expected. The 3D conversion did not charge as well. Then what it does?
Touchstone Pictures says that Garden gnomes Gnomeo and Juliet have many hurdles to overcome, when they are caught up in a dispute between neighbors. The plastic pink flamingos and lawnmower races in the mix, so how this couple find happiness? James McAvoy gave his voice to Gnomeo and Emily Blunt to Juliet.
Other reviewers say that adults may feel that Gnomeo and Juliet lack wit, but the gnomes have a brilliant 3D tactility. The movie features some romantic action figures.
Michael Rechstshaffen, The Hollywood Reporter says that the garden variety results including the 3D seem to bring a decent crowd. The movie capitalizes on the scarcity of new family oriented product in the Oscar courting marketplace.
Justin Chang says that Gnomeo and Juliet succeeds In creating a lovely, imaginative world. It would have been more enjoyable and easier to take in.
