James Cameron, director of Avatar, stated that he felt that 3D would definitely replace 2D as the standard form of viewing in the near future for both films and television. And this change was to come about within the next two decades.
Cameron announced at the Korea tech forum that audiences will enjoy 3D not only through films but through television including music concerts and sports. 3D will be soon available on laptops as well.
It will be the new way of experiencing television and entertainment.
Recently his film, Avatar released and took the world by storm as it was one of the best to be offered in 3D. It has revolutionised the way in which 3D technology can be utilised for films. Cameron added that 3D is fast over taking as the preference over 2D.
