Those of you that have relegated yourselves to pudding and popsicles may be able to get some beef back in your diet.  Check out this cool concept:  dentists may be able to create prosthetic teeth via a 3D printer, offering up exact replicas of those you lost in last year’s hockey game or while back-talking your incredibly large boss.  Regardless of how they left you gumming your food, you’ll have what you need to make it right.

By using bio-composite materials and 3D imaging printer, dentists are hoping to severely cut down the time to create teeth that can fill the gaps…get it?...fill the gaps?  Ok, moving on…

This concept is coming from the Middle East, with scientists in Iran working to help those that need some replacement chompers.  Of course, this is similar to the chocolate printer we covered a week or so ago.  Layer by layer you’ll see your tooth take shape.  The complicated patterns and shapes that a 3D printer can produce should lead to many more uses in the same vein.  Prosthetic teeth today…maybe prosthetic limbs tomorrow?  Who knows what comes next, but for now, it’s teeth, and the idea is pretty darn cool.
