Those with a 3D TV can now rely on YouTube to help them fill their time. The viral internet video website is now offering up 3D versions of their content to those with the hardware to support it. Yep, that’s right. Basically, YouTube is ensuring that they live long beyond the lame-o 2D videos that have plagued our society for decades…Ok, that was a very melodramatic rendition of the truth, but either way, if you’ve got the hardware, YouTube 3D has the goods.
Regardless of your hardware, active 3D, passive 3D, or even the blue/red paper glasses that we all used to loathe back in the day, you’ll be able to enjoy 3D content through YouTube 3D. That pretty much covers the world of 3D TVs, but if you have a 3D computer setup, you can get in on the action also. But, there’s a caveat…you gotta have The Firefox 4 web browser, as NVIDIA, Mozilla, and Google all announced a partnership that will ensure compatibility.
Because we’ve seen a spike in 3D handheld camcorders, expect this to absolutely take off. There’s no doubt that people want 3D content, and while we wait, YouTube 3D is making sure that we aren’t doing so in vain. Those that have the capability to view such content are encouraged to let us know which vids are offering the best entertainment.
