It is likely that LG is going to release their new 3D phone. It has been officially announced by the company that the Optimus 3D will be making its debut appearance at the 2011 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain in few weeks. This phone will mark LG’s entry into the world of 3D smartphones. It may not be the first phone in the world with 3D capability as the Galapagos from Sharp came out before, but for the first time the consumers will be offered with a complete 3D experience. The present smartphones, that are available now, lack in 3D content but certain features have been introduced by LG that can help you in creating your 3D content. A dual lens camera is there that can help you in 3D recording. The LCD panel that is free of glasses will help in viewing 3D and you will be able to share content any time with your friends from anywhere.

Sharp :3D Smartphone

You cannot enjoy all this stuff of 3D on your home entertainment without moving it into the Smartphone’s right? Sharp is planning to soon bring their autostereoscopic wares during 2011 to the United State shores, and today at CES LG electronics is busy in showing their own prototype. It has got a 4.3inch panel, glasses-free 3D technology (by using the method of parallax barrier) and is embedded in a demo box, and the final goal is just to have it all in a media centric advanced handsets. To be very honest, there are some effects of glasses-free 3D technology, but most of the time we have noticed that there are 2 frames splitting and did not get any video improvement any way. The best section might be the one which did not include any 3D-ification to them. The display on the show was certainly a bright and lucid one. Avoid the break and see what we are actually speaking about.

So, we’ve been hearing about it and now we finally had the ability to handle an HTC EVO 3D smartphone.  Wanna know how it held up?  Of course you do, otherwise, why in the heck are you reading this?  First, let’s start with the design.  You’ll quickly notice that it feels a bit heavy in your hand, but when you consider what’s on the inside, you gotta them a bit of leeway here.  Dual cameras are on the back, of course, and the 4.3-inch qHD 3D screen covers a majority of the front panel.  But, you don’t want to hear about that…let’s get to the good stuff.

When we started checking out 3D pictures, I was a little stunned.  At first, I noticed that the edges did pixilate a bit, but all in all, the quality was good.  I knew going in that this was a first generation 3D smartphone, so I was ready to be disappointed.  I wasn’t.  Additionally, the 3D videos were of a pretty high quality despite needing to find the “event horizon” as I like to call it:  the sweet-spot as you may like to call it.

We didn’t get a chance to check out any 3D movies yet, but we should be soon.  This is all first impression stuff, so look for a more detailed review once we’ve played with it for a week or so.  Ultimately, the first glances look really, really good.  The camera captures were satisfying, and the Snapdragon processor pushed us through the experience with a smooth demeanor.  In fact, it runs at 1.2 HGz to be exact.  There’s no doubt that HTC put quite a bit on the line with this release, and it seems that they’re poised to snatch a nice segment of the market.  Remember, you aren’t getting your hands on a 70-inch 3D HD TV here, so be sure that your expectations are realistic.

Our final verdict:  we give HTC a head nod for a nice looking unit that should attract quite a few users in the coming months.

EVO 3D For Sale? Only If You’re Lucky…

Apparently, there’s reports that the EVO 3D is already up and running, but you’ll need to worm your way into getting one.  Who knows how?  Not me, but ultimately, if you can snag one, it’ll cost you $199.99 if you’re willing to commit yourself to the two year commitment (which is just shy of also offering up one of your kidneys, though I hear that’s in the works for the next round of cell phone contracts).  But, let’s say that you’re interested getting one without marrying Sprint…well, that’s gonna hit you where it hurts.

The EVO 3D will run you $549.99 if you decide that the commitment is just too much for ya.  I get it…I had commitment issues for a while, but hey, who hasn’t, right?  Ultimately, the moral of the story is that there are a few of these guys roaming around.

There’s something about having a 3D cell phone that intrigues me.  Will it offer up quality 3D or do they put it on there just to entice us?  We’ll let you know once we get our hands on one.  And, despite my earlier statement…I got connections.  I’ll let you know.  Until then, just look at the pretty pictures.

Who wants a freebie?  As all of the hands fly up all over the room, Sprint proceeds to deliver gifts like it’s the holidays.  The HTC EVO 3D smartphone is drawing quite a bit of interest from those looking to see how the 3D technology will impact the cell device world.  So, to commemorate such an event, Sprint is offering up free 3D flicks and applications with each purchase of the new 3D smartphone.  Although we’re still awaiting an official word, leaked information points to a June 24th release.

Those that pick up the EVO 3D can get a free copy of The Green Hornet3D, which will be directly loaded on your microSD card.  But, you’ll also have the ability to get more with the Blockbuster On Demand application.  They aren’t stopping there.  Those that pick up a copy, in the limited time window, will also get a Gameloft storefront application and a free Black Eyed Peas “Phenomenon” download.  All this should help you see just what your new little toy can do.

You can visit a Radio Shack or the Sprint Store to reserve your copy of the phone.  A trade-in of an EVO shift 4G or EVO 4G, you can get $100 off the listed price of the device.  The dual-core processor is nothing to scoff at, and with Android Gingerbread, you’ll be finding this one on quite a few wish lists.
