3D television network 3net announced that ten more programs will join the titles that were announced previously in the premium line up of the network during February. This television network is a joint venture from Sony Corporation, IMAX Corporation and Discovery Communications. Millions of customers of Direct TV throughout the country can avail 3net, which debuted on 13th February, 2011 on channel 107 of Direct TV at 5PM PT/8 PM ET.
Tom Cosgrove, the Chief Executive Officer and President of 3net said that their commitment of delivering most immersive and the highest quality experience of 3D TV at home are second to none. Every program starting from the original series to the acquired premieres are held up to the standard of native 3D TV which is developed together with the expertise of all the three joint venture partners in extensive 3D. The mission of 3net is to become a leading network in the industry by offering the best entertainment as well as emotional immersion to the viewers of 3D television.
The network will offer an exceptional rollout of authentic 3D series as well as new program throughout the month of February. The new programs will debut every night at 6 PM PT/ 9 PM ET. This will include the following programs that were announced:
Original Premiers
Oceania Air Show: This program will offer you 3D experience of high performance pyrotechnics and aerial maneuvers from elite professionals throughout the world along with demonstration of thrilling tactics by best aviators from the Navy.
I (Almost) got away with it: Randall Zandstra shot the boyfriend of his ex-wife and got a prison term of 12 years. A retrial was held because of a technicality. Zandstra fled from the jail, ran to Las Vegas, won lots in poker and started to run mail fraud. Finally he was tracked down by the authorities and now he is in a prison in New Jersey.
Puppy Bowl VII: The latest in the lengthy yearly event that takes place during the Super Bowl has a record viewership of 9.2 million. Now 3net brings the native version of 3D. This program features around 50 rescue puppies of various breed that are brought together in a field that is 19 feet long.
World 3D TV Premieres
The Last Buffalo: William Lishman, the world famous inventor and artist, forges a huge metal statue that has images from the beautiful Alberta Badlands, where the eagles fly over a mountain lion in search of a stampede of buffaloes.
3D Safari- Africa: This program offers a deep journey into the Dark Continent. It explores the habitats and the animals of the wild. This program is an outcome of months of explorations and takes the viewers to the open deserts for capturing the striking creatures like lion, wildebeest and hippo as they roam around their natural habitat.
Bugs- A rainforest adventure: This is a nature drama and is narrated by actress Judi Dench. It was shot in Borneo and also in a studio in Oxford, England. It explores the life and death of a butterfly and a praying mantis that are known by their respective Latin names Papilio and Hierodula.
The 3net Premieres
3D Sun: This program offers witnessing of the most magnificent auroras on the Earth by standing over the Arctic Circle. It provides a ride from the surface of the sun to the Magnetosphere of the Earth in a solar blast. Watch the strongest explosions taking place in the Solar System which are equal to the strength of a nuclear bomb of one billion megaton. Find out how electronic equipments are disrupted, geomagnetic storms are created and the patterns of Earths weather are influenced by these explosions.
Under the sea 3D: Get prepared for a face to face meeting with the Great White Sharks, playing Sea Lions and the flamboyant Cuttlefishes. The film is narrated by actor Jim Carrey and it delivers a unique way of exploring the beauty under the sea and assessing global climate change’s influence on the Great Barrier Reef.
Deep Sea 3D: It is narrated by Kate Winslet and Johnny Depp and explores the variety of life in the ocean. A wide range of ocean creatures will be seen starting from the giant octopus to the Rainbow Nudibranch. You will be able to enjoy an encounter between an octopus and a shrimp that challenges it. You will also see surprising scenes of a fish cleaning the shells of a turtle.
Dinosaurs- Giants of the Patagonia: This program is narrated by actor Donald Sutherland. Through this program you will be able to travel back into the ancient world of Patagonia. Here the massive dinosaurs will come into your living room in 3D. You will watch the Giganotosaurus and Argentinosaurus, the huge plant eater. They will be seen challenging the T-Rex.
