Panasonic has a right to be proud of their impressive flagship Blu-ray player. The DMP-BDT300 may not be as sleek as other designs that we’ve seen, but the two-tone appearance still has some style. When you handle one, you’ll immediately notice that the unit seems to be built well, which makes it a popular choice for those looking for a Blu-ray player that can stand the test of time.
3D compatible and complete with a second HDMI output, the DMP-BDT300 allows you to utilize older equipment that may not have the HDMI v1.4 switching that newer setups have. This gives you the ability to get the 3D content you crave while getting HD sound to your audio system. Just to make the unit a bit more enticing, you’ll have an SD slot, bringing your home movies to life in HD with no problem.
The interface didn’t wow us in testing, however, as it seemed a bit laborious to use. But, with so many other upsides, we found this pretty easy to get over. The 3D capabilities are great, and the images that flashed across our HD screen were about as alive as one could hope for.
All in all, with prices starting to be slashed on the unit, the DMP-BDT300 is a great Blu-ray player for those looking for compatibility and a durable deck. If you find one, take the chance…there’s little doubt that you’ll be completely satisfied with your decision.
