Whether or not you’re a fan of James Cameron’s work is irrelevant when he speaks on 3D technology. As a huge initiator of the platform in theatres everywhere with Avatar, Cameron is again talking about 3D, but this time the subject is overall technology adoption. He explains that 3D technology was definitely boosted by the movie visibility, but doesn’t believe that theatres are enough to generate the home integrations that many companies are considering. Instead, he points to tablets as the portal that’s necessary to bring 3D into the home. Because many are developing glasses-free 3D technology, expect many to start taking a chance on the platform in general.

Cameron goes on to explain why the glasses-free 3D element is important. Autostereoscopic TVs are the likely solution to the hindrance that so many have cited: the glasses themselves. We already have smaller screens utilizing the technology, but until we see everything done on a larger level, 3D sales may continue to sag a bit.

James Cameron is a huge advocate of 3D technology, and he believes that consumer actually want the necessary hardware but simply don’t want to wear specs to get the effect. Toggling between 2D and 3D visuals will become commonplace in the future, and with so many already releasing 3D laptop initiatives, look for the same push to begin making headway into large screen home units.

There are a few personalities in the entertainment industry that generate buzz and garner respect when they speak on industry-wide issues.  In this case, James Cameron is playing the role of 3D advocate, as he always does, and mentions how he’s working with the BBC to create the big screen release of Walking with Dinosaurs.  Though this should be absolutely stunning, Cameron does let you know how he feels about the BBC holding back with 3D a bit:

“The BBC has held back a little bit with 3D…BSkyB has jumped in and ESPN has jumped in.”

It’s obvious that Cameron has faith that the BBC can dominate the region’s 3D broadcasting, but the hesitation has already cost them some valuable ground.  The costs associated with development have been steadily dropping, and because of that, the BBC should make a move – it’s obvious that everyone else is!

Cameron goes on in the interview to explain how he believes that it’s time for the BBC to make the muscle move into the industry.  3D is obviously here to stay, and as the development costs continue to plummet, it will only lead to more competition, as smaller organizations can start to get into the 3D movement. 

Cameron brings up a great point, and with Wimbledon getting broadcast in 3D to the public, there should be some BBC moves in the near future.  Obviously, they plan on working with Cameron on some 3D content, but how far they’re willing to take things may be up in the air for a bit longer.

Universal pictures has finalized James Cameron’s another 3D project. His Avatar and Titanic have already created a benchmark and it seems his new project SANCTUM is going to be shot underwater. It is going to release on the 4th of March in the year 2011.

But it has competition and this is Sony’s thriller project, Priest which is also 3D. The release dates of this project have recently changed.

This project rotates around a father and a son who are stuck in a cave under the water with some divers. It is a true story about survival.

Everybody is waiting for this movie after his brilliant work in Avatar.

There were several rumors about Titanic, the blockbuster movie of James Cameron. An article in the LA Times confirmed that Titanic will be converted from 2D to 3D and released in April 2010, which is the 100th anniversary of the Titanic tragedy.

The most interesting question is, “would the post production 3D conversion process give more depth to the film and make it a box office hit”
However, James Cameron’s film has all the capabilities to receive 3D treatment. He is the man behind the two engrossing films of all time- Titanic and Avatar. In fact, he has brought 3D to the people.

If Cameron manages to provide 3D treatment to Titanic, obviously the next question is whether Lassie, The Sound of Music and Barberella will be the next films.

James Cameron is going to direct a 3D documentary about Black Eyed Peas. William James Adams, co-founder of the pop group Black Eyed Peas feels that the band’s next tour movie will be more excellent.
Will.I.Am confirmed the reports of dealings between the Peas and Cameron, while speaking to VIBE magazine. He says that Cameron is going to direct a 3D documentary about the band. He points out that his team has got the biggest director, because his team is the biggest one on the earth.

The new movie of the Shrek is here with the latest technology of 3D.  It gives you the story of the lovable Ogre.  At one point the movie was wonderful, but today even with 3D it is little boring.
So much has been written and said about Shrek’s box office status.  Because of this movie the price of the IMAX has been increased to $20.  There were mix reviews about the film.  The expected opening was $120 million instead it opened at $71 million.  The only silver line is that 61% of the sale was from 3D showing which is considered a records.  Overseas picture did better in 2D than 3D.

This movie is very good for the kids as in theater there were many kids who were sitting all the 2 hours without uttering a word.  People who take their kids for movies  will definitely understand the meaning behind these words.  Kids were watching this movie without disturbing there parents.  All the kids prefer 3D movie over 2D Shrek.  The sound is terrific and Dolby sound of the most of theater was sometimes disturbing children.  The 3D was really very good.  Since the movie was animation, making 3D must be easier and perfectly suited to the technology.  All the animation movies like Chicken Little or Kung Fu Panda will be very good 3D movies.  3D of the movie has been supervised by Phil Mcnally.  By now he is so expert in 3D technology.  His characters do exactly what he says.  They jump out of the screen only when he tells them to do so.

The tool of the 3D movie making is ‘depth script’ .  It works like a guide for the 3D in the movie.  Most of the time the person who tells the story will use it to regulate the 3D,  He decides the point at what the characters will come to you.  There should be coordination between the action and the dialogues.

Everybody today is waiting for more action on the 3D scene.  The market for 3D is very huge and it is increasing day by day.  More and more theaters are ready for 3D movies than ever before.  3D films are good for animation and CGI.  Indian Jones will be a good movie to convert in 3D.  That will be a crowd puller movie.   If Steven Spielberg or James Cameron is ready to do it then we are eagerly waiting for it.

Director of the famous 3D movie ‘Avatar’, James Cameron thinks that very soon 3D will be replacing 2D as a mainstream and standard format of the film and television.  Even online content will be in 3D in less than 25 years.

At the Seoul tech forum in Korea, James Cameron mentioned that viewers all around the world will very soon enjoy 3D not only in the theaters but also in the other forms of  other entertainment  including music shows, sports and all these on their TVs as well as on their Laptops.

According to Cameron once 3D television and laptops become more commonplace then home viewing entertainment in 3D will be popular form of entertainment.  His previous film Avatar which was in 3D technology has proved to be revolutionary film in 3D technology.  According to him audience is now ready to choose media and entertainment content.

When you give them the choice the audience is going to select the best possible choice to see the movie and 3D was the best possible experience to go through.  He pointed out the popularity of the 3D films and mentioned that even the consumer electronic industries  has been moving towards 3D technology.

James Cameron is again in the news for 3D.   He wants all TV producers to invest more money in the 3D show.

While talking in a Seoul technology forum, he said that filmmakers face many challenges while converting 2D into 3D.  According to him people should shoot directly in 3D in place of converting 2D to 3D all over the world as many people today are shooting in 3D.  Future belongs to 3D and we are going to have many 3D TVs around us.  To show so many programs on it we need thousands of hours CDs of sports, comedy, music and other entertainment.

According to him the concentration should be on 3D content in place of money.  People should not bother about money.  Since 3D TVs are already in the market now there is no time for converting 2D into 3D.  Now the future shoot should be in 3D.

Everybody should learn how to do live 3D shooting.  This will bring the cost of 3D shooting down.  Everything is available today.  The channel, the sets, the only thing which is missing is the content which production people need to get.

James Cameron is one of the few directors who have worked on 3D content with Avatar.  Avatar was officially the highest grossing film of all the time.  Cameron speaks with Confidence as he can be considered the most experienced director to work on 3D technology.

Avatar is the most expensive film because he used 3D technology which was created from the ground up.  All the TV giants like Sony, Samsung, LG and Panasonic will be very happy to know that Cameron is backing 3D technology as these companies have invested very heavily in their 3D TVs.

Cameron announced at the Korea tech forum that audiences will enjoy 3D not only through films but through television including music concerts and sports. 3D will be soon available on laptops as well.

After the success of his film 3D film Avatar, James Cameron is supporting 3D technology in a big way. And he feels that everyone should go in for 3D.
At the Seoul Technology forum, he threw light on the obstacles the filmmakers had to go through to convert their 2D films into 3D. He stated that the films should be shot in 3D only and one should let go of their inhibition regarding 3D as many filmmakers are already using this technology successfully.

He added that in the near future, even television will be 3D and we would be watching sports, music and other forms of entertainment in 3D. Cameron added that producers in both TV and film industry should put their worries aside and focus to bring out more 3D content as in future they won’t have the time or the money for conversions.
The shooting will have to be live in 3D and costs will be centering around 3D only.

Everything else like sets and channels are already there and one has to generate the content only. Cameron is the only Hollywood director who is so confident about the technology and more so after the success of his 3D fantasy film. In addition to this, Cameron accepted that it was very costly to make the film as he had to set up the 3D technology from scratch.
Companies like Samsung, LG, Panasonic and Sony are happy with the new of Cameron promoting 3D as they are the ones who are into making 3D TVs.
