Review on Avatar 3D Blu-ray

Blu-ray 3D new release of movie Avatar is now available in two different ways. For the past purchasers of the Panasonic 3D television by the loyalty program, that is available on their website, or to the newly available starter kit of Panasonic, that includes the Avatar film. On the 3D TVs of Panasonic only the 2 pairs of the glasses (rechargeable) are used. The past starter kits of Panasonic contains the battery power versions, which have got completely different build, this is a good option for the people who owns Panasonic gear.

The disc BD 50 easily contains the versions of 2D as well as 3D film. It will easily detect on what type of TV it is played, as in the 3D sets, the screens of pre-menu is in 3D. The main menu also offer you to make a choice regarding the version that you wish to watch, after you press the tab of play film. The menu available on the 3D television set has got the option of the 3D tabs but the background video of 3D is not there.

Avatar film in 3D is a big achievement, an amazing experience which gave a rise to 3D technology. After the film Ice Age, the second comes Avatar which will be released in Blu-ray 3D title. The experience of Avatar 3D is unrivaled among the other releases in Blu-ray. It has got beautiful and amazing, mind numbing of the 3D content, which shows some beautiful scenes without added dimensionality. The 3D is perfect, superbly sharp, detail as well as distinction without blur. The color is perfect and strong as like the release of the original 2D and the level of the brightness are perfect. The audio sounds same like the original 2D Avatar. There is no difference in the audio 5.1 DTS-HD. There are no descriptive tracks and 2.0 English Dolby Digital in this release.

The options of dub and subtitle are same in this release like the original edition. The movie Avatar made records all over the world at the box office, and the presentation of the film on 3D was a big hit. The 3D version of the movie available for your home is a hot property, which Panasonic as well as Fox has locked for sometime as retail exclusive. The supply on the Blu-ray 3D is more available, because of the loyalty program as well as from the purchase of the Panasonic sets. The Blu-ray 3D will work till the time retail version of the Avatar comes out.

Mark your calendar, fellas…  June 7th is when you’ll be able to snag a copy of the 3D blu-ray rendition of Sports Illustrated’sSwimsuit 2011: The 3D Experience.  Now, we can all rationalize this as, “Honey, I want to see all of the exotic location spots that I can take you to one day…”, but don’t expect a lot of love when you come home with this one.  Either way, there’s no doubt that the always popular swimsuit issue coming in 3D will make quite a splash.

Of course, they aren’t doing any converting here – the footage is all shot natively in 3D, so expect good quality for your buck here.  The shoots take place in Maui, arguably one of the few places in the world that can match the beauty of these swimsuit beauties.  Complete with interviews and behind the scenes footage (no dressing room footage, guys…sorry), there’s no doubt that this will make the perfect 3D addition to your man-cave.

Again, June 7th marks the release date, and the 3D Blu-ray will carry a suggested retail price of $19.95.  If there’s anything worth seeing in 3D it’s beautiful women, so don’t hesitate when you see it.  Let the impulse buy hit you, and think of how you’ll explain to the kids why it was a better buy than Gnomeo and Juliet 3D.  Also, fully expect to spend the evening in the man-cave, as the wife may not want to see your face for a few hours…

The Lion King 3D is coming back to theatres, folks!  You read that right…we’re getting another chance to check out one of the massive achievements of Disney’s run.  Disney/Buena Vista are re-releasing the popular animated film for two weeks only, starting September 16th, 2011.  But, just in case you happen to miss that, you can get your hands on a 3D Blu-ray copy of the classic on October 4th.

All of the popular characters are making their re-appearance to the silver screen with a 3D makeover that will surely excite everyone regardless of age.  Getting that incredible Sir Elton John soundtrack echoing in our eyes while we get 3D visuals of the unforgettable stampede scene should be plenty to pack theatres for the two-week window, right?

The 3D Blu-ray set will be listing for $49.99, with the 2D rendition selling for $39.99.  But, that doesn’t mean that you have to stop there…no, sir.  Instead, you super fans out there can collect the entire 8-disc The Lion King Trilogy for the low price of $100.  Ok, maybe it isn’t so low, but when you consider just how popular this saga is, you’ll save a bundle when comparing the prices of 3D theatres these days…

Cirque du Soleil has taken the world by storm.  Through the integration of performance arts and the classic theme of the circus, the performance group is now reaching audiences directly in their living rooms.  Cirque du Soleil: Journey of a Man 3D is coming to 3D Blu-ray on June 7th, and there’s no doubt this is going to be a hot commodity.  Ian McKellen narrates the haunting performance.

This particular performance tells the tale of a man from birth to adulthood, and each phase is delivered through the stage performance.  The incredible light shows and acrobatics that ensue should be fun for the entire family, not to mention a great way to showcase that new 3D TV you just picked up.

The 3D Blu-ray package is listed at $19.95, and with the performances seen in venues across the globe, you know they captured an incredible one here for this disc.  Interested in the show, but have never managed to see it?  Well, $19.95 is a lot cheaper than a ticket to Cirque du Soleil.  Take it from me, but don’t plan on making this a substitute on your next wedding anniversary…she wants the real thing, otherwise you’re gonna be in it deep…

Reviewing The Green Hornet 3D Blu-ray

When is a super hero not a super hero?  When he doesn’t have any special abilities and his sidekick does all of the dirty work.  That’s the tale featured in the popular Green Hornet remake that has hit shelves in 3D Blu-ray.  Fans of Seth Rogan will love this flick, but if you’ve found yourself a little Seth-ed out, then maybe you’ll want to take a pass on this one.  Because he’s always over the top, you already know what you’re going to get…a lot of screaming and a lot of ridiculous situations.

If you don’t know the tale, Britt Reid is the wealth son of a media mogul.  It’s the classic “no good rich kid does right” story, as he seems to rather want to spend time nursing hangovers (or creating them) than actually do anything worthwhile.  He teams up with Kato, his loyal sidekick, and they do their part to take down the big-city crimelordChudnofsky.

Now, in regards to the movie….eh, I can take it or leave it, but honestly, I find Seth Rogan hilarious.  Granted, I’d like to see him be someone besides Seth Rogan in a movie, but every decent comedian has to endure that.  The movie’s plot is a little ridiculous, but again, if you like Seth, you’ll be able to stomach this one.  If you’ve been finding him annoying lately, you may want to save yourself the trouble and just go ahead and punch yourself in the face now…not really, but maybe…

Disney/Buena Vista is releasing the animated Mars Needs Moms to 3D Blu-ray on August 9th.  The HD disc features Seth Green and Joan Cusack in quite the adventure that seeks to protect Moms everywhere from a greedy Martian invasion.  Robert Zemeckis directed the Disney hit.

The Blu-ray discs will have all of the standard specs that we’ve come to expect.  DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 sound and 1080p video should offer up the perfect opportunity to show off your entertainment setup.  However, just remember to bring the popcorn, because once this rides starts, nobody’s going to want to get off the couch.

Other features include a behind the scenes look at the voice-actors as well as the truth behind the Martian language in the film.  Created through some good times, it’s a safe bet that the bonus footage will likely be as hilarious as the movie itself.  Further, there are some surprises in the storyline as deleted scenes offer up a different story regarding the abduction of Milo’s mom.  Find out more by combing through the disc, as there’s some Easter Egg action going on as well.

Again, Mars Needs Moms 3D is hitting shelves on August 9th, so ready the family for a little QT movie night.

Even as we come down the home stretch for the month of May, there’s no doubt that the 3D Blu-ray titles are starting to get real.  Remember when we had to wait around forever for our favorite movies to hit the 3D Blu-ray market?  Often times, we were simply buying the standard DVD renditions and purchasing our favorites later on the higher-quality disc.  However, things have definitely changed, and we’re getting a feeling that May’s release schedule was only the beginning.  We recap what the month brought us, and hope that we’re seeing a permanent changing of the guard in home entertainment.

The Green Hornet hit shelves on May 4th, and was selling for $24.99 on Amazon.  Hmm, seems that the prices are starting to stabilize a bit, as well.  Gnomeo and Juliet, the Gnome romance that captured the hearts of audiences and critics alike, drops on the 24th.  Available on Amazon for $29.99, Disney is making sure that they are getting in on some of the 3D Blu-ray action.

Drive Angry, another installment in the epic ride that we call Nicholas Cage’s career (insert a bit of sarcasm here), is yet another 3D Blu-ray that should get some love.  Sure, the plot leaves quite a bit to be desired, but in the end, we’re getting some action, an irritated Nick Cage, and of course, some reasonable babe action.  Available on the 31st for $24.99 on Amazon, Drive Angry may not win any Oscars, but it’s likely to be a fun ride.

3D Blu-ray discs seem to be picking up steam in terms of titles.  We aren’t having to wait long, these days, for cool content to show off our 3D systems.  This has long been a gripe of those that have already made the switch.  Look for more to join the movement with so much content hitting shelves.
